Our First Rain in Twelve Years, But That Didn't Dampen Anyone's Spirits
There was a terrific thunder and lightning storm the night before, and the clouds looked threatening that morning. But we went ahead. Then the showers came, but by 12:30 the rain stopped and we could truly report that it didn't rain on our parade! A lot of hardy people stuck it out, many even enjoying indoor picnics of the Applegate Lions Club's chicken barbecue inside the Cookhouse. We had a sprinkle at the first Buncom Day, and rain when we celebrated in Ruch one year, but this was the first time we had serious showers at a celebration at Buncom.
