It's a well known fact that metropolitan Buncom and the surrounding area are home to all sorts of clubs, interest groups, and talented folks. A whole passel of them shared their wisdom and/or demonstrated their crafts at the community booths and displays.
Lace-Making – if you’ve ever wondered how on earth a piece of
string turns into a doilie or a lovely lace collar, you found out from Paula
Noxious Weeds – Barb explained the ins and outs of star thistle, bull thistle, and all those pesky things found amidst the beauty of the Applegate Valley
Forest Thinning sounded easy the way Ryan described it, using his
expertise to help us understand how to keep our homes safe from wildfire
Paranormal – in other words, ghosts and goblins – bet you didn’t know there are ghosts at Buncom – lots of folks learned about them from Darcy and her colleague
Making Trails – fhe folks from the Siskiyou Upland Trails
Association were on hand to talk about their work in re-opening and linking trails
throughout the Rogue Valley
Mercy Flights Marguerite provided information on how to support this essential emergency service in our community
Fire Safety – Carey and her colleagues brought one of the District
9 fire trucks, which fortunately they did not need to demonstrate. That meant they were on
hand to talk about the latest in fire safety
Jacksonville Museum – James let people know what's up and what's planned in the big city nearby
McKee Bridge Historical Society had their snazzy mobile museum on-site and just loved to talk about their current projects
Buncom Historical Society – the organizers have been too busy
recuperating from the excitement of Buncom Day to add up the number of new members who
signed on that day. As you can see, no one is too young to join the Buncom Historical
Society!
